Definition-
Word that describes the quality of a Noun or a Pronoun is called an Adjective.
'Or'
Describing word is called an Adjective.
Types of Adjectives
Four most common types of Adjectives are -
Adjectives of Quality
They describe the size, shape, color and manner. 'Of what kind ?'
- The building is big.
- Taj is a wonderful monument.
- He is an honest boy.
- Mr. Kapoor is a famous doctor.
- Apple is red and sweet.
Adjectives of Quantity
Adjectives of Quantity tell us about the quantity of a Noun or a Pronoun.
"How much or How many."
- I took some notebooks.
- They had enough plates.
- Many students passed the tests.
- They have completed most of their work.
- I don't have much time.
Demonstrative Adjectives
Demonstrative Adjectives are used to modify a Noun so that we know which specific person, place or thing is mentioned.
Note- The only difference between demonstrative Adjectives and Pronouns is that demonstrative Adjectives are followed by a Noun, whereas a demonstrative Pronoun replaces a Noun.
Adjectives of Comparison
These are used to compare two objects.
- May is hotter than April.
- She is taller than her sister.
- This pen is better than the other.
- He is more intelligent than his father.
- Priya is prettier than her mother.
